Pastel Flowers for a Savannah Beach Wedding

Sunday, May 23rd, 2010

***We are so excited to announce that Nichole & Jason’s wedding was featured on

The SOUTHERN WEDDINGS MAGAZINE Daily Blog.

Take a peek here.***

I had such a great time working with Nichole Utecht and Jason Algra on their wedding.  They fell in love with so many natural elements in our flower shop–the fresh flowers, manzanita branches, natural grasses and lichen branches.  It was all the perfect backdrop for their Tybee Island wedding.  And Nicole Wickens with Green Door Photography did an amazing job capturing the moments.  To view more photos, check out her blog.  Thanks for the fabulous shots Nicole!

Her bridal bouquet was absolutely one of my favorites.  Our inspiration was the color of seashells.  We used peonies, garden roses, amaryllis, parrot tulips, lily of the valley and ranunculus.  I had no idea she was wearing these shoes, but wasn’t it a perfect match??

Jason’s boutonniere was a perfect mixture of ranunculus, green fern curls, feathers and green moss.

Bill (one of my fellow designers) and I set up this wedding on the back side of Tybee Island where its nice and quite.  We were there very early in the morning–7:30!  It was a perfect morning!  We created an ‘aisle’ with lichen branches, then enhanced it with natural grasses and manzanita branches.  I took these shots just before the guests arrived.

In between the set up and break down of the wedding, Bill and I went to the famous Breakfast Club and had a delicious breakfast.  I highly recommend it to anyone coming to Tybee.

“Thank you so very much for our gorgeous wedding flowers and beach decor!  Our wedding day could not have been more perfect and our photographer, along with me, and everyone else were totally smitten with my bouquet!”  –Nicole Utecht

The couple took advantage of our many photo ops around Savannah.  Green Door Photography took this one at the gorgeous entrance to Wormsloe Plantation.

Pink Peonies for a Wedding at The Gastonian

Monday, May 17th, 2010

Jennifer Lehr and Jeff Verscheure were married this spring at The Gastonian.  We created a beautiful peony bouquet for her.  For all you brides that LOVE PEONIES, the best time of year for you to get married is mid-May through June.  They are absolutely in their prime then.

Many thanks to George at BlueDoor Photography for these beautiful images.

Flowers for a Savannah Graduate

graduation flowers

“I want to thank you so very much for the flower arrangements you made for my daughter’s college graduation luncheon last Saturday. The arrangements were absolutely stunning, I don’t know if I’ve ever seen just perfect roses. The flowers were sophisticated and fun, a perfect match for my daughter. We had so many wonderful compliments on them, during lunch and on the streets of Savannah while we were walking back to our cars. I made sure everyone commenting knew where they came from. Again, I can’t thank you enough for the amazing job you did with the flowers.”

Savannah Wedding Flowers for Jamie & Casey

Saturday, May 8th, 2010

Jamie Fifer and Casey O’Rear  were married on a beautiful spring day here in Savannah.  The team at Caroline Carter Events did a fantastic job pulling their entire look together.  Their color scheme was burnt orange and peach, and the bride was especially fond of dahlias and roses.  Their photographer, Jade McCully, was kind enough to provide me with an immediate sneak peak of their day.  Check out these beautiful images…

Jamie’s classic bridal bouquet consisted of white roses and mini calla lilies.  The bridesmaids, on the other hand, carried a vibrant collection of dahlias, calendulas and roses.

The ceremony took place downtown in Warren Square.  We tied beautiful little bunches of orange flowers onto the chairs and placed rose petals down the sides of the aisle.  These chair markers were later re-used as table centerpieces on the cocktail tables at the reception.

The reception was held at the Charles Morris Center at The Trustees Garden.  It was really breathtaking when you walked in the door because it was so warm and inviting.  Thanks to Caroline Carter, the linens and chairs were a perfect complement to the brick walls and wood floors, and the candlelight was truly enhanced by the orange rose petals placed inside our candlestick vases.  These vases were used on half the tables.

Gorgeous submerged roses were used on the other tables.

Many many thanks go out to photographer Jade McCully for providing me with these gorgeous images!  Its always a pleasure to work with you!!
