I receive a lot of requests for wedding flowers from Rev. Steve Schulte and his brides, but I was completely honored when he asked me to re-design his mother’s bridal bouquet from 50 years ago.  His entire family met in Tennessee for this wonderful celebration.  This was the only photo that we had to work off of, and Steve said that it included tiny white roses, lily of the valley, green ivy and lots of white ribbons.  To read more about this day, check out his blog.  Thanks Steve, for letting me be such a special part of this day!!

Check out this breathtaking photo shoot that we (well our flowers) participated in.  Up and coming event designer, Liz Demos, teamed up with Blue Door Photography to create every detail of this beautiful wedding down on Jekyll Island.  When Liz approached me with the idea, she asked me to provide her with the bridal bouquet and a bunch of loose flowers.  She then took these flowers and designed them in her own containers.  She has a lot of experience as a photo stylist, so I knew I could trust her with our precious blooms.  To read more about this event and view other images, please visit Blue Door’s blog.  (And yes, a real butterfly did land on the bridal bouquet during the shoot.)

Maria was a young beautiful bride with the sweet innocent look of a 70s child.  Her style — natural, casual and relaxed– filled with daisies, herbs, grasses, mason jars and gingham ribbon.

She wanted her bridal bouquet to show its long natural stems. We created it out of anemones, daisies, stock, alstroemeria, spray roses and wax flower.

1

Her bridesmaids carried this sweet bouquet of tulips, cymbidium orchids, spray roses, buplureum, wax flower and lisianthus.  Each girl wore a different dress in a medium yellow tone.

2

The couple was married at The Isle of Hope United Methodist Church here in Savannah.  The guests were greeted by daisy arrangements on shepherd hooks and green moss initials on the doors.  They arrived on a trolley.

3

We used a mixture of yellow viking daisies, white monte casino, green hypericum berries and green ivy here.

4

I loved her wild and natural pew markers created from millet, forsythia, dill, myrtle and wax flower.

5

Their reception was held in the Charles H. Morris Center, an newly renovated historic building located just blocks from our shop in downtown Savannah.  Its bare brick walls and windows were the perfect backdrop for their event.  Ashley and Kim with Events by Caroline did a fantastic job pulling Maria’s whole vision together.  They used both round and square tables with natural linens.  We created three different centerpieces.  Cheerful sunflowers and daisies were used throughout.  Thanks go out to Josh Goldman for some of these images.

Maria found these natural wooden boxes at a local craft store.

DeShay Gould and Toure McCluskey we married in Savannah this past fall!  They were a delightful couple to work with.

Her bouquets were created out of varying shades of purple flowers.  We used roses, mini callas, stock, lisianthus and freesia.  Her bridesmaid’s wore aubergine dresses.

Take a look at this gorgeous beauty!  Dendrobium orchids accent her hair.

Toure’s boutonniere…lavender mini calla with loops of lily grass and Italian ruscus greenery.

The couple chose the First African Baptist Church as their ceremony site.  This historical church is known as “The Oldest Black Church in North America”, dating back to 1775.

Their open and airy altar arrangements were designed in one of our many rental containers.  We used lavender larkspur, stock and fuji mums.

The reception took place at Savannah Station.  They used beautiful linens and hanging lanterns over the dance floor.

Submerged orchids and floating candles create a romantic look.  If you look closely at the photo below, you’ll see an empty cylinder vase.  The bridesmaid’s will place their bouquets here when they arrive at the reception.

Many many thanks to her coordinator, Karen Moore of Re {Defining Moments}, for doing such a fantastic job, and to Kelli Boyd with DVB Photographers for these wonderful images!  Just look how she captured those gorgeous eyes!!

One day Caroline Carter, with Events by Caroline, came into my shop and introduced me to a beautiful bride from Las Vegas.  She was in town with her friend planning her wedding, and they were so gorgeous that I think the first thing I said was “Wow!  This is going to be a pretty people wedding.”  It was during our bridal appointment that I discovered she was about to marry Forrest Griffin, the UFC fighter.

Thanks to Kelly Boyd, with DVB Photographers, for providing most of these wonderful images.  You can tell which ones are mine!!

The couple was married in Columbia Square, just two blocks from my shop.  We lined the front of the fountain with an assortment of cylinder vases with floating candles.  These vases were reused at the reception on the head table.

The reception was held in Belford’s Restaurant, right in the heart of Savannah’s City Market area.

I loved the table centerpieces that we created.  They looked fabulous on the custom made table runners that Caroline had found.  As for the flowers, we used roses, dendrobium orchids, anthuriums, stock, ruscus and bells of ireland.

Look at the fabulous job that Custom Cakes did with matching the cake design to the table runner.  It was really beautiful!
